What To Look For In A Photographer
You did it! After all this time, you’ve finally found someone to spend the rest of your life with. Now in your wedding planning, you’ve come to the part where you need to find a photographer. Seems easy enough. But where to begin? Especially for something momentous like your wedding day? Here are 7 things to look out for in your wedding photographer.
Comes Highly Recommended
This one is a little tricky, but it just means you may need to do a little more research. When it comes to a photographer, there are some who do amazing jobs but just don’t have the resume to back it up. This is where you would need to ask around and maybe test drive and see how you like their work...but finish the rest of this list before you make that kind of commitment.
Reliable, Reliable, Reliable
This one goes without saying, and also goes hand-in-hand with #1. This one takes research too. Nobody wants to get to get to their wedding and find out that their photographer had to go back home because they forgot a lens. Your photographer should be prepared and arrive at least an hour before the ceremony starts.
Has a Rolodex of Locations for Photoshoots
If you’re doing engagement photos or even a photoshoot for save the date cards, it would help that they have a lot of locations to choose from that are hidden gems. This goes for urban and rural areas. There could be a hidden caché in the city that not everybody knows about or a beautiful view off of a ridge. Either way, you want options so find someone who can provide it for you.
Offers Wedding Packages
This is important to look out for especially if you’re trying to save money. Some photographers also will package in a video deal to help document your wedding. Some also will stay with you from pre-engagement to the flower toss so if you find one, check out their catalog of deals and see if any of them fit you and your vision for your big day.
Knows how to Edit REALLY Well
We’ve seen A LOT of mishaps where editing can get a little crazy. Finding a photographer who has top quality edits is important for the things you don’t expect to appear in photos, like your nephew sitting in the back of an intimate photo.
Has a Team
When your photographer has a team, right off the bat it sounds like you know things. Having a team means that more areas are covered and there are more chances of getting amazing angles and super candid moments that you can remember about your special day forever.
